Weingut St. Urbans-Hof was founded in 1947 by Nicolaus Weis. His grandson Nik Weis is the third generation from the family to run the estate. It is known for its outstanding portfolio of vineyards stretching along the Mosel and Saar Rivers. This fits Nik Weis's philosophy perfectly — an unflagging focus on capturing the essential character of each vineyard in its wines. The estate's holdings include many of the region's crown jewels, world-class parcels with renowned names like "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen" and "Ockfener Bockstein." The wines demonstrate the lightness, elegance and spice for which the Mosel is known. This reflects a strong focus on work in the vineyard, yet in the cellar Nik Weis and his cellarmaster Rudi Hoffmann pursue a notably hands-off approach.
