Frankland Estate is a family owned and operated premium wine producer located in the isolated Frankland River region some 380 kilometres south-east of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia.
Situated far from population and industrial centres the region has ancient weathered soils and a pristine, pollution-free grape-growing environment free of major vine pests of diseases. Summer temperatures are moderated by onshore winds off the Southern Ocean creating cool, mild conditions that allow grapes to ripen slowly resulting in fresh, delicate and highly aromatic wines.
To this end meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of grape growing and winemaking is combined with a minimal intervention approach in the handling of grapes, juice and wine. This results in complex, well-balanced wines that have a distinctive sense of place and are generally considered more subtle and elegant than most contemporary Australian wine styles.
