Our winery has a long and proud tradition that can be traced back to the year 1641. Having said this, it is the oldest winery within the village of Oestrich and even one of the oldest in the Rheingau region. We ensure that techniques and experience is carried on from generation to generation.
Due to the region's most ideal climatic conditions we cultivate a 95% share of our 21 hectares counting vineyards with Riesling, which is acclaimed worldwide to be the most superior white wine variety. Amongst our labels you find wines which are rich in nuances on scent and taste supplemented by the ripe, fruity and pleasant acidity that is our wine's backbone.
In strict accordance with proven traditional methods we still pick the grapes manually; this ensures that the grapes get treated in a way that will result in superior quality. For fermentation the grape juice is put into oak barrels or stainless steel and will reside in our Romanic cellar until it will be bottled. Consequently, our labels frequently earn significant appraisals like just recently the fourth grape in the renowned Gault Millau Wine guide, to mention just one of them.
